Anthum full interview of battle of the bands.
These two
girls have taken the charts by storm, each with hit singles being on the top 40
list for a number of weeks, one of these divas are very close to having one of
their singles being the next number one. These girls were both handpicked by
record companies who saw star quality in these two. These girls state that they
are not going to change into big, green, raging fame monsters!
Well hello
girls, it’s great to finally have you both together. You both are doing so well
with your careers. How has the year been for you both?
Natalie; I have been touring around the world,
which has been very hectic. I haven’t had a lot of time to record at the
moment, but I am writing new material for the next album. But besides from that
I have been to a lot of places for the first time, I got to go to Australia! It
was so crazy; I’ve always wanted to go to Australia. A year ago this wouldn’t
have happened at all, and then I was picked to become an artist, due to someone
seeing that I had potential.
Eileen; the year for me has been really busy;
I have been working hard on the next album and the album itself is a personal
one. I’ve had a bit of a break last year due to having toured around the world.
I feel like I’ve been a little lazy to be honest. However I hope I’ve redeemed
myself with the new music.
Well I think
that with two songs in the charts, one nearly at number one, just shows you
have already been forgiven by your fans. For you Natalie it looks as if you’re
going straight towards the right direction for a very successful career. As if
it’s only been a year since starting, this comes to my next question. what are
you wanting to get across to the people listening to your music?
Natalie; The message I want to get across to
people, is that music is important and is a good way to express yourself. With
the music I release, I want the people to listen and have a connection to what
the lyrics are. It’s not about the money, which in some cases artists do think
that, I believe it’s all about the music and sending a positive or meaningful
message out to fans or others.
Eileen; I agree with what Natalie has said,
many people think in the music industry, all singers and bands are in this for
the money. Which I do agree on that, many do. But we don’t, yes we do get paid
for doing this, but it’s our job. We do get overly paid for this type of job
but we don’t care about the number of noughts in the payslip, I want it to be
about the music and having the fans understand my music.
Well that’s
very good to hear, both of you seem to give a lot of care to your fans. What
are your fan bases looking like? Are they supportive and what are they like?
Have you met any fans?
Eileen; Sounds cliché, but I really couldn’t
do it without them. They are just so supportive of my career I’ve still not
come to terms with how my love of singing and performing has become my career.
Natalie; I have received support from fans and
the fan base is doubling since the start. I can’t believe it as it’s just been
nearly two years and

I have fans that are so star stuck when they see me out in public. This is surreal
as I still see myself as a normal day to day teen. It’s just so
overwhelming. When I was touring, so
many people came to watch. Each concert was sold out every time. I was told by
a member of staff, which said many had camped outside the stadium, the NIGHT
before the concert.
Natalie; I have received support from fans and
the fan base is doubling since the start. I can’t believe it as it’s just been
nearly two years since I broke into the music business and have had this much
support. However you always get those few people who will do anything to break
you. I received messages from a few people saying; ‘your music style is
terrible’, ‘who allowed you to be a singer’ and ‘X Factor reject’. Truth is I
chose that style of music, it fits me well. For anyone who doesn’t like me,
that’s fine. For those who do thank you.
Haters will hate... But I’m not changing for anyone.
Both of you
say you have toured around the world. What’s it like to be able to travel
around? Do you ever get home sick and miss the people close to you?
Eileen; yes I defiantly get a little home
sick as I miss my family loads when I’m away. Luckily my mum is sometimes able
to get to come on the tour for a little while. When she’s there though she’s
always making sure I stick to my study schedule and getting an actual bedtime.
A good side to being on tour is you get to visited a lot of places and while you’re
there you get to learn a lot about each place, so you are learning a little of
the culture.
Natalie; yes it’s exciting when on tour; there’s
a lot of places I’ve been able to visit. I’ve always wanted to go to Australia.
I got to go to Sydney, Melbourne and Gold Coast. Luckily my mum and dad come
with me on tour, so I don’t get home sick as much.
How do you
think next year will go for you?
Eileen; to be honest who knows what will
happen. I hope that I am able to continue on as an artist. I do not want to
take it all for granted.
Natalie; to continue making more music and to
meet my starlets. I may in fact get another two tours in for my starlets also.

music magazine progress update 3
At the moment this is what I have produced so far in production. This will be my front cover for my final product. This is not yet complete fully, as I will be needing to put some added touches to the banner and minor tweaking to the layout scaling.

Professional Photo
Shoot - Planning Sheet
The music
magazine that I currently have in mind is a Pop magazine
I think my
house style should look Bold but fancy. So it can look great for the teen to
older teen, without being dated or too young.
It should
create the impression of being
What to Photograph

What techniques to use
|
How I achieve this
|
A shot of my main model which will be used as my front cover
|
The shot for the front cover will be a close up of the model and the
lighting for this will be on the model highlighting her as the key feature of
the music magazine.
Will be a medium close up to show the importance of the character.
|
Get an appropriate model and style the model that will suit the genre
of the magazine, which is a pop with a mix of indie. The lighting should be a must in
order to create the right effect for the shots. The shot for the cover will
be shot in the studio for maximum effect.
|
A series of shots, which will be using the same prop, but with
different models using the props differently each time, which is a number of
pink and purple balloons.
|
A series of different angled shots will be taken to create effect for
the magazine, my aim is to make the shoot look fun and fit the pop/indie genre.
For lighting it will be set with dimmed. Also different gestures for each mode,l So I can show the personality of
each model by the shots taken.
|
Using a few models to achieve this. The costume must fit the genre of
the magazine, being pop. The location will be set in a room which the colour
will be lilac. While the pink and purple balloons will break up the colours
of the background, so that the colours will pop.

Music Magazine questionnaire responses
Here are the responses of the people, who had participated in the questionnaire would be collected and shown on the blog. This will help me get a clearer idea of what is to expected of me by my future audience. This questionnaire is also to help me to gain a better understanding of the different audiences that would be reading my music magazine, as well as creating the right content for each of the audiences needs.
